Incorrect Configuration Settings or Keys

The most likely issue that you will run into is having the incorrect configuration.

Verify Files are in the SFTP Folder

The first step is to check if the files are in the SFTP folder. If the files are not in the SFTP folder, then the issue is likely with the SFTP settings.

SFTP Settings

Host

The host is the URL of the SFTP server. This is the URL that you would use to connect to the SFTP server. This should be sftp.ed.link if you are using Edlink's SFTP server.

File Path

The file path is the path to the file that you want to connect to. This is the path to the file that you want to connect to. This is usually /skyward if you are using the most common settings in.

Port

The port is the SFTP port that you want to connect to. This is usually 22 or 2022 if you are connecting to the Edlink SFTP server.

Username

The username is the username that you use to connect to the SFTP server. If you are using the Edlink SFTP server it was provided during the onboarding process.

Password

The password is the password that you use to connect to the SFTP server. If you are using the Edlink SFTP server it was provided during the onboarding process.

SFTP OneRoster Settings

If you are using grade passback, you will also need to enter the following settings, grade passback will not work otherwise.

OneRoster Server URL

The OneRoster Server URL is the URL of the OneRoster server that you want to connect to. This is the URL that you would use to connect to the OneRoster server. Example: https://skyward.school.org/API/ims/oneroster/v1p1

OneRoster Client ID

The OneRoster Client ID is the client ID that you use to connect to the OneRoster server. This is the client ID that you would use to connect to the OneRoster server. Example: edlink

OneRoster Client Secret

The OneRoster Client Secret is the client secret that you use to connect to the OneRoster server. This is the client secret that you would use to connect to the OneRoster server. Example: 26yDxcltbkmn554rs1D9wj.

Incorrect Skyward Export Settings

In Skyward you should verify that the export job has completeled andrun successfully and that the export location has been set to the correct SFTP location. Check the report to make sure that files that were actually created.
