For Developers
Supported Functionality
Edlink supports integration with OneLogin as an OIDC-compliant authentication provider. This section outlines the supported functionality, features, and limitations specific to OneLogin.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Edlink integrates with OneLogin to facilitate SSO, allowing people to log in seamlessly to platforms connected via Edlink.
Compatibility
As an OIDC-compliant provider, OneLogin offers flexibility for schools and organizations already using its infrastructure.
Limitations
Some important things to keep in mind when using OneLogin with Edlink:
No Rostering Capabilities
- Rostering (people, classes, enrollments) is not supported by OneLogin within Edlink. A separate primary source is required for these data.
Matching Identifiers Required
- Ensure that email addresses or usernames in OneLogin align with those in the primary rostering source to prevent authentication failures.
Secondary Source Only
- OneLogin acts solely as a secondary authentication source and cannot replace the primary rostering source.
Recommendations for Successful Implementation
- Verify Matching Identifiers: Ensure identifiers (emails or usernames) in OneLogin match those in the primary source.
- Choose Secure Configurations: Enable MFA within OneLogin for enhanced security.
- Coordinate Sources: Ensure accurate and updated data from the primary source, as OneLogin will rely on it for authentication.
