Getting Verified
Team verification is a manual process that we perform at Edlink to provide some additional security protections for your organization. Both developer and district teams can be verified, but they mean slightly different things.
Developer Verification
Developer verification is a process that we perform to ensure that the developer is who they say they are. This is important because we want to make sure that the developer is not impersonating someone else. To verify your Edlink team, the only requirement is that you have an active agreement with Edlink. There's nothing special that you have to do - we will automatically verify your team once you have an active agreement. If your team is still not verified, please contact us at support@ed.link
.
Once verified:
- Your team will have a checkmark next to it in the Edlink dashboard.
- Your team will have access to additional features that are only available to verified teams.
- You will see a different version of the
Dashboard
tab that will contain usage metrics and other information about your team. - You will be able to create and manage district onboarding invitations.
- Districts will not see a verification warning when they are invited to connect to your application.
District Verification
District verification is a process that we perform to ensure that a valid district administrator is managing Edlink connections. This is to prevent any potential data privacy issues (e.g. where data is accidentally leaked to someone who is not a verified administrator). Normally, this is not a problem because the person using the Edlink dashboard can only see the data source that they have personally connected. However, in some cases, it is possible for a district to view data coming from Clever or Classlink that they didn't configure themselves. In this case, we need to verify that the district admin is who they say they are. To get verified, please contact us at support@ed.link
.
Once verified:
- Your district will have a checkmark next to it in the Edlink dashboard.
- District admins will be able to view and manage Clever and Classlink sources that may be connected to application developers via Edlink.
- You will be able to modify district settings such as address and identifiers (e.g. NCES ID).
