Attendance

Meeting models define when attendance can be taken and attendance models record outcomes for a person in a meeting. In addition, attendance records can be associate with participation data (via intervals and virtual metadata).

Attendance records are described via relationships to other models:

• Attendance Types - describes if the person was absent or present
• Attendance Flags - describes special scenarios such as in-school-suspensions, doctor visits, etc.
• Attendance Statuses - describes the outcome of the event, such as if the person was "excused" for an absence.
• Attendance Entry Methods - describes how the attendance entry was collected
• Attendance Entry Sources - describes where the attendance record was collected from

Meeting

A Meeting is an event for which attendance can be taken, either at the school-day level or for a specific class period. Meetings link to a day and optionally a class and period.

Attendance

Attendance records a person's attendance outcome for a meeting. Edlink stores primarily negative attendance and flagged records.

Attendance Type

An Attendance Type maps district attendance type codes to standardized attendance entry types.

Attendance Status

An Attendance Status maps district attendance status codes to standardized attendance entry statuses.

Attendance Flag

An Attendance Flag maps district attendance flag codes to standardized attendance entry flags.

Attendance Entry Method

An Attendance Entry Method maps district codes for how attendance was recorded to standardized entry method types.

Attendance Entry Source

An Attendance Entry Source maps district codes for the system or medium that recorded attendance to standardized entry source types.

Student Day Meeting

A Student Day Meeting defines when student day-level attendance can be taken on a school calendar day.

Student Period Meeting

A Student Period Meeting defines when student period-level attendance can be taken for a class on a school calendar day and bell schedule period.

Staff Period Meeting

A Staff Period Meeting defines when staff period-level attendance can be taken for a class on a school calendar day and bell schedule period.

Student Day Attendance records a student's day-level attendance outcome for a student day meeting.

Student Period Attendance

Student Period Attendance records a student's period-level attendance outcome for a student period meeting.
