For Developers

Near Realtime Attendance

"Near Realtime Attendance" is a specialized feature designed for applications that require up-to-the-hour visibility into student whereabouts. Unlike standard roster syncs which typically run on a nightly schedule (or a few times per day), this feature synchronizes attendance data for the current day at least once per hour. Currently, this high-frequency capability is exclusively available for PowerSchool, although we may build support for additional SIS platforms in the future.

This feature enables developers to build operational tools that rely on immediate data, such as digital hall pass systems, student checkout workflows, or emergency safety applications. By accessing attendance status shortly after it is recorded in the SIS, applications can prevent conflicting actions—such as issuing a hall pass to a student who has already been marked absent—and ensure accurate, timely tracking of student location.
