Pausing Roster Changes
Sometimes, schools or companies may find it desirable to paused incoming roster changes. The two most common use cases for this are:
- Schools may want to pause roster changes during the summer months in order to enable teachers to access the prior year's classes.
- Companies may want to pause roster changes to allow continued access to their system
In order to meet this need, Edlink provides two ways to paused roster changes. One method is designed for schools, the other for companies.
Pausing Roster Changes for Schools
Schools can pause roster changes by setting their data source to be disabled
in the Edlink dashboard. This will prevent automated syncs from running on a daily basis. It will not interrupt a sync that is currently in progress. The school administrator can also manually sync the data source at any time (regardless of the disabled state).
Pausing Roster Changes for Companies
Companies can pause roster changes coming from a particular school by setting their integration to paused
in the Edlink dashboard. This will prevent materializations from updating roster data when changes are made to roster data, sharing rules, transformations, etc. It will not interrupt a materialization that is currently in progress.
Please note, materializations will still run when an integration is set to paused
, but they will not update the roster data.
