Overrides are a simpler alternative to custom transformations for the purpose of changing data before it enters your system. With overrides, you can insert, update, or delete data from the school's dataset via the Edlink UI. Overrides are designed to be used by non-technical members of your team.
Notes on overrides:
- Overrides will "pin" the value of a field to the value you specify. This means that if the field is updated in the source data, the override will still be applied.
- Overrides are applied after both district and developer sharing rules.
- Using overrides to insert data into the dataset can be tricky. If you're trying to do this, consider reaching out to Edlink support for help.
