About Robotel:

Robotel is a global education company dedicated to enhancing language learning through its flagship platform, SmartClass. Designed to improve student speaking and listening skills, SmartClass offers powerful tools for teachers to personalize instruction, deliver multimedia-rich lessons, and track student progress in real time.

About the relationship:

Robotel’s Simon Ritchot initially connected with Edlink by reading Edlink’s public documentation, where he then created a free developer account to explore a few sandbox environments. After initial testing and review, Simon connected with the Edlink team to discuss his integration needs.

Initially, Robotel was seeking a way to implement an urgent Microsoft Teams integration, but that short-term goal opened the door to a broader conversation. As the Robotel team prepared for a major U.S. expansion ahead of the 2025 back-to-school season, they realized the need for a more scalable solution to support long-term growth.

Previously, Robotel relied on a mix of CSV uploads, LDAP connections, and basic integrations like Microsoft Calendar, with some experience using the LTI 1.0 specification. But as the demands of U.S. learning institutions grew more complex, so did the need for more modern, deeper integrations. With limited in-house development resources, the team found it increasingly difficult to manage multiple integration projects while also enhancing their core platform.

By building one integration to Edlink’s Unified API, Robotel now gains:

  • 30+ API and standard-based connections to LMS, SIS, and IDM providers like Microsoft Teams, PowerSchool, and ClassLink
  • A out-of-the-box onboarding flow, so that learning institutions can self-connect in 5 minutes or less
  • Significant development time back by not building integrations one by one

When asked why Robotel chose Edlink over any other possible solution, here’s what they said:

“I believe the main reason [why we chose to work with Edlink] was the time saved by not having to implement each possible integration.”
- Simon Ritchot, Software Developer, Robotel

With Edlink handling the complexities of integration, Robotel can stay focused on what they do best, empowering language teachers and learners through innovative technology.

Edlink is the fastest and easiest way to integrate your learning platform with school data systems. Working with Edlink's Unified API saves development teams from headaches, accelerates time-to-market for operational teams, and helps sales teams win more deals.

Edlink currently supports 120+ edtech companies and helps over 75 million people use their edtech products seamlessly with their school’s LMS, SIS, and identity management platform (like Clever and ClassLink). We’re trusted to exchange sensitive data securely by edtech companies, school IT administrators, and district leaders in over 5,000 educational institutions, and growing.
