About Craft:
Craft is dedicated to transforming teacher training through innovative, hands-on learning experiences. Their platform focuses on empowering future educators by providing them with practical tools and resources to enhance their teaching skills. Craft’s mission is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world teaching, ensuring that new teachers are well-prepared to succeed in the classroom.
About the relationship:
Craft was about to begin building an integration to Canvas for their teacher apprenticeship app, and hoped to expand to other LMS providers in the future. In his research to find a better solution than building one integration at a time, Craft’s CTO Scott Sumi discovered Edlink and created a free developer account. Interested to learn more, Scott booked a time with Edlink’s Nick La Riza.
During their first call, Scott and Nick explored Craft’s ultimate goal, facilitate a workflow where students training to become educators can submit activities and assignments to on-site mentors for review. University educators would then be able to view and grade accordingly all within Canvas. Learning more about a possible integration solution, Craft chose Edlink as its integration partner.
“From my perspective, there were a couple of factors that went into deciding to work with Edlink:
- Good support for Andrew (Craft’s Principal Engineer) setting things up and addressing issues found.
- Common API for Canvas LTI or API integration. We'll probably need to use both for our use case.
- Investment in ramping up and integration with our product could accelerate work with new customers that use LMS/SIS systems that Edlink supports.”
- Scott Sumi CTO of Craft
In one integration to Edlink, Craft can connect to more than 25 LMS, SIS, and IAM providers like Canvas, Aeries, and Clever. Edlink can also provide LTI specification integrations so Craft can support learning institutions without missing out on integration functionality and experiences. By partnering with Edlink, Craft will save significant development time and resources, allowing them to concentrate on their core mission of enhancing teacher training.
