About ASCD:

About the relationship:
ASCD was moving their platform from a prior system over to their new content hosting platform Witsby. This would let learning institutions combine their personalized professional content with ASCD’s evidence-based content. Hearing about ASCD’s upcoming need to provide integrations with Wistby, a mutual professional connection introduced ASCD's Rob Letcher, Tracy McKee, and ISTE's Brian Simmons to Edlink’s Co-Founder Amanda Goodson. This introduction led to an introductory meeting to explore potential collaboration between the four.
During their first call, Rob explained ASCD's need for SSO and the long-term goal to implement the LTI specification for Witsby. ASCD was using Okta for identity and access management but found it to be expensive and time-consuming to implement on a per-district basis. For ASCD to use an integration partner, they needed integrations for their most requested providers PowerSchool, Clever, and Google Classroom. After learning more about them, ASCD chose Edlink their integration partner.
In one integration to Edlink’s Unified API, ASCD can connect to 25+ LMs, SIS, and IAM providers like Google Classroom, PowerSchool, and Clever. Through Edlink, ASCD can host powerful integration features like SSO and roastering, and ASCD can choose to use API or LTI integrations to customize how they support learning institutions. By using Edlink as their integration partner, ASCD can reduce the time and cost associated with building custom integrations and continue to focus on their core mission of empowering educators.
